WHS Full Chorus

At Wellsboro High School, students are required to take one music class. This can be the students choice of chorus, band, or music theory. Many students choose chorus and come to the realization that they do like to sing. The full chorus performs at a holiday concert in December and a spring concert in May.

Dicken's Choir

Students in full chorus can choose to audition for other ensembles such as the Dicken's Choir. This group performs at various local events with its busiest time happening during the Christmas season when Wellsboro celebrates Dickens of a Christmas.

Women's Choir

The women's choir is a small ensemble chosen from the Dicken's Choir participants. They typically perform a couple songs at each of the choral concerts.

Men's Choir

The men's choir is also a smaller ensemble made up of the members of the Dicken's choir. They always provide an enjoyable performance at each concert.

5th/6th grade Music and Chorus

5th and 6th graders will see Mrs. Morgan Shaffer every other day for a general music class as part of their 7 week specials rotation. Music selections vary between classic literature, musical numbers, holiday novelties, movie music, patriotic songs, in addition to mainstream genres like rock and pop music.

5th and 6th grade students can also choose to join chorus. These two grades will meet for rehearsals during the school day, every other day. The choirs learn songs and present a concert together in December and again in May.

7th/8th grade Chorus

7th and 8th grade students also choose to be part of chorus. Like the other group they will meet together during the school day every other day for rehearsal and sing in a concert together in December and in May.
